Sotheby's International Realty® conference for affiliates - Global Networking Event was held this year in San Diego, California, April 12 – 15, participated by Baltic Sotheby`s Realty management as well.

The international real estate company Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty, which deals with the high quality living apartments, has opened its independent office in Jurmala (Jomas Street 83). The company is convinced, that the physical presence will allow operating successfully in the city, where there are many outstanding real estate property object. „When in April, the year 2010, we entered the Baltic market and opened the office in Riga, we understood, that we should certainly work also in Jurmala. In the Jurmala office of Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty, four specialists will work; among them there will be also well-known businessman Maris Bensons, who has joined the company in the status of the cooperation partner (Affiliated Partner). In summer, the office will be opened on working days, as well as on Saturdays.

The international real estate company Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty, beginning its activities in Jurmala, has organized, in cooperation with the Riga Gallery, the Latvian painters’ contemporary and modern art exhibition „Synergy effect”, which has taken place in the Jurmala City Museum, starting from the 6.th till the 9.th of August, the year 2010.
In the exposition, it was possible to see the paintings of the nine Latvian painters, as well as the works of the painters Liga Purmale un Ritums Ivanovs, which were represented by Sotheby’s in the London auction of the year 2009. Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty organized the exhibition in connection with the opening of its office in Jurmala, which began its work on the 1.st of July in the main pedestrians’ street in Jurmala – in Jomas Street.
”Jurmala was deliberately chosen to be the place of the organization of the exhibition, because the city becomes in summer not only the center of the health resort, but also it offers the wide cultural program. Traditionally, the cultural and entertainment events in Jurmala are connected with the music, and our objective is to expand the horizon and to attract the society’s attention to the achievements of the Latvian contemporary and modern painting. Latvian residential properties will be presented at Sotheby’s in London
Participants of Sotheby`s auction will be offered more than ten unique properties
Riga, 24.11.2010. Co-owners of the international real estate company Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty,which deals with luxury residential properties, will meet the guests of the Sotheby’s auction in London on the 28th and the 29th of November. The prestigious sales auction “Russian Paintings” will present the works of Russian artists of 19th and 20th century.* On closed events, held during the auction, Baltic Sotheby’s International Realty will present to approximately 15 unique residential properties in Latvia to Sotheby’s clients. Among these properties, there will be: “Kukšu Muiža” manor house, “Cinātas” countryside property, Edoles castle, villa in Jurmala on 26 Rotas Street, several extraordinary apartments in Riga, etc..

The interest in Latvian real estate by the citizens of CIS is increased by amandments to the Immigration law, which provides the possibility of obtaining Latvian temporary residence permit on the basis of buyin g property starting from certain amount. Analyzing the company's activities over the past year - the demand for real estate and the number of transactions has increased. As we approach the summer season, the interest of foreign investors in houses and apartments in Jurmala is growing.
"Local buyers, unfortunately, are not very active in the property market", - said V. Rozenbergs, one of the founders of Baltic Sotheby's International Realty - "with the improvement of the global financial situation, which would cause greater flow of cash into the economy of Latvia, local buyers demand may increase." Currently, the main interest are for two categories of real estate:
The first and most popular category includes real estate with a total area of 100 sq.m., the second - starting from 250 sq.m. Over the past year Baltic Sotheby's International Realty has concluded over 30 sales transactions and more than 50 lease deals in Riga, Riga district and Jurmala. Property prices in Riga were from EUR 1 410 to 3 246 per sq. m., in Jurmala - from EUR 2 310 to 3 569 per sq. m. The average rent price in Riga and Jurmala was EUR 8 per sq. m. (excluding tax and service charges).
